US/Mexico Border Update & Asylum Seekers
Thousands of people fleeing war, violence, and persecution arrive at the US southern border every month, hoping to find safety and asylum in the United States. Recent immigration policies like the “Migrant Protection Protocols” have formed a wall preventing asylum seekers from finding protection and sending innocent families and children back to dangerous Mexican border towns. In this presentation, CWS partner staff working on both sides of the US/Mexico border will share how government policies, Covid, and other factors are affecting asylum seekers at the border and what you can do to help.
Hosted on 7/20/20 by Diego Lopez, Shelter Manager with Casa Alitas in Tucson, AZ; Aaron Tate,CWS Director of Program Innovation.
