Hunger is a serious issue and those of us who work to end it are serious about our mission.  That doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while doing it!

A colleague and I recently staffed the CWS booth at the Presbyterian Youth Triennium held at Purdue University.  Some 5,000 Presbyterians from Alaska to Maine came together for a week of fun, fellowship and worship.  We invited participants to help us end hunger while having a little fun at the same time.  Justcheck out some of the pictures on our Facebook page.  Did we have any fun?

Presbyterian Youth Triennium participants demonstrated how fun fighting hunger can be.  In fact, groups all around the country do the same thing when they hold a CROP Hunger Walk in their community.

CROP Hunger Walks are meant to be fun events that bring people together for the purpose of ending hunger, one step at a time.  The best way that I can think of to do that is to participate in your local CROP Hunger Walk.  Don’t know if you there is one near you?  Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.  Just go towww.crophungerwalk.org and enter your zip code to find the nearest Walk.

If you don’t see one nearby, why not start one?  There are people like me all around the country who would be thrilled to help you start a new CROP Hunger Walk in your community.  Call 888-297-2767 to reach your local CROP Hunger Walk office!   We know hunger is serious business, but in the fight to end hunger, the more fun we have, the more people we’ll get to join us!
