Kenya
In Kenya, we are committed to helping our most vulnerable neighbors access education, nutritious food, clean water, safe communities and basic rights.
Across Marsabit, Kitui, West Pokot and Tana River counties, we’re working with communities to strengthen food security, improve livelihoods and build resilience to climate change. Farmers are learning modern beekeeping techniques, joining Village Savings and Loan Associations and receiving improved livestock breeds, vegetable inputs and training in financial literacy.
Families are better able to put food on the table by growing kitchen gardens, conserving natural resources and accessing water for agriculture. These efforts promote gender equity, reduce climate-induced migration and improve household nutrition and income.
We’re also responding to emergencies caused by droughts and floods. In Marsabit and Tana River counties, we reached more than 112,000 people with food baskets. In West Pokot, we’re supporting climate-resilient communities through sand dams, climate-smart agriculture and sanitation efforts that improve nutrition, hygiene and household income.
Communities in Kenya are trailblazers for change. Together, we’re building a path toward a more resilient and hopeful future.
