CWS Announces COVID-19 Videos in 11 Languages for Refugees and Immigrants

Videos will inform refugee populations in their native languages

Washington, D.C: Today, Church World Service announced the release of 13 new informational videos on COVID-19 for refugee and immigrant communities. The videos were made by medical professionals and community experts in languages spoken by many refugee communities in the United States.

Even before the pandemic, refugee and immigrant communities faced extra barriers to health care access and COVID-19 has only made that situation worse. Many refugees also work in healthcare (more than 175,000), the food supply industry (more than 176,000), and other essential jobs and thus are putting their own well being on the line to provide for all of us during this difficult time.

By providing practical information on how refugee and immigrant communities can keep themselves safe in their native languages, we can reach groups that may not have access to this information and help all of our communities stay safe.

The informational videos are available in Arabic, Burmese, English, French, Farsi (Dari), Spanish, Swahili, Somali, Kinyarwanda, Nepalese, and Rohingya. The videos are free to share widely. The full playlist is available here.
