Welcoming Refugees: Tutoring Adult English Language Learners: Foundations, Tips, And Resources

This presentation will equip volunteers with a foundational knowledge of in-home tutoring. First, the presenter will discuss important general principles for teaching adult English language learners. She will then demonstrate how to structure a lesson, focusing on best practices and useful resources. Finally, she will share a variety of real-life, practical tips for tutoring adult refugee-background learners. Attendees will leave this workshop with a solid plan for beginning their tutoring practice.
