Welcoming Refugees: Trauma Informed Care

This presentation provides an introduction to immigration trauma and the role resettlement organizations can play in promoting healing and integration among new arrivals. Participants will learn about the major tenets of trauma-informed care, common trauma reactions, and effective responses that embody respect, compassion, and self-awareness. Suggestions for cultivating trauma-informed professionals and organizations will also be shared.
