Welcoming Refugees: Strengths Based Volunteering

As community members volunteering with recently arrived refugees, it is important to understand the role you have in empowering the individual’s autonomy. Being an empowering force in other’s lives is difficult. This presentation will explore what it means to uphold a Strengths-Based approach to volunteering with refugees. Participants will be encouraged to explore how they might navigate different scenarios through empowering actions.
