Reuniting Refugee Families: The Central American Minor Program

Refugee families do not always enter the United States together, for a variety of reasons, however recently arrived refugees are entitled to apply for certain family members to immigrate to the United States and reunite. During this session we will discuss the programs available for refugee families to reunite, how these programs have changed since 2016 and highlight the Central American Minor (CAM) program that allows eligible parents to apply for their children in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to be resettled with them in the United States. This program provides a safe mechanism for children in Central America to reunite with their families. Attendees will learn how to support family reunification, what they can do to help families applying for their children through the CAM program as well as how to support families that successfully reunite.

Hosted on 8/16/21 by CWS Family Reunification Team .
