Asylum Basics

Learning objectives - Participants will be provided with a basic overview of the origins of U.S. asylum laws as a type of humanitarian protection. Participants will have an understanding of the asylum filing process, including the differences between filing an application affirmatively and defensively. Finally, participants will learn about the differences between an asylee and a refugee.
