We’re acting to prevent the spread of Coronavirus

Coronavirus is a global pandemic that has claimed thousands of lives and left billions more people vulnerable to disease. We recognize the severity of this threat and have taken precautions to protect  the communities in which we work, our supporters and our team.

Here’s what that looks like right now:

  1. Our Immigration and Refugee Program offices in the United States are adapting their programming based on the advice and mandates of their local and state governments.
  2. Our global teams are adapting our programs based on the unique contexts in which we work. Here’s one example from our work with refugees and asylum seekers in Jakarta.
  3. All spring CROP Hunger Walks have been directed to modify their events to be virtual, to support social distancing and prevent the spread of the virus.
  4. We’re making sure that our staff and communities are informed about Coronavirus and how to stop the spread of the disease through the information and translated resources here.

As this pandemic continues to worsen, more of our vulnerable neighbors will be in its path. Thanks to our ongoing supporters, we will be with them in the face of the storm, working alongside them to protect, respond and ultimately overcome.

CWS programs reach many of the most vulnerable people in our world, supporting them as they put food on the table, keep their families healthy, access clean water, recover from disasters and find a safe place to call home.

With your help, we can continue this lifesaving work in the United States and around the world.

As you care for your own family in your home, you can also help families around the world who do not have access to the tools and supplies they need to keep their families healthy and strong. For every dollar you give, 88 cents will go directly to our programs.

Here are ways you can respond:

  1. Support vulnerable families – donate now.
  2. Participate in a virtual CROP Hunger Walk. Find your local walk at crophungerwalk.org.
  3. Donate to supply CWS Hygiene Kits at cwskits.org/donate.
  4. Consider ways to welcome refugees while social distancing by visiting our COVID-19 Community Sponsor Toolkit.
