Newcomer Virtual Orientation Webinar
CWS offers a free monthly orientation designed to help newcomers better understand key resources and policies in the United States. This session provides helpful information for community members who may benefit from learning about U.S. laws and programs that can support them as they begin their journey here.
The orientation will cover topics such as how to access important documents, cash and food assistance, healthcare, employment resources, as well as how to navigate local school systems and next steps in immigration case proceedings.
Please note: This session is for informational purposes only. Your contact information will only be used to send the Zoom link and will not be shared. The orientation is offered at no cost and made possible through U.S. government funding.
This monthly webinar is designed to provide vital information about services and resources available to newcomers in the United States, including those with the following statuses:
- Granted or won asylum
- Cuban or Haitian entrants, including those with:
- Humanitarian parole (current or expired)
- Pending immigration court proceedings
- Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders from Afghanistan or Iraq
- Survivors of trafficking
- Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees who arrived between 2/24/2022 and 9/30/2024
