The final preparation day has concluded in Istanbul, and the World Humanitarian Summit starts tomorrow morning.  The booth of the Japan CSO Coalition for DRR – in which CWS  plays a secretariat role – is set, with its key commitments and “10 Lessons from Fukushima” in various languages.  This will be a booth where we will proactively communicate lessons from nuclear disaster in Japan.

In gearing up for the summit side event on innovation with the private sector and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese government organized a dinner meeting with their top delegation: former prime minister Mr. Fukuda along with key leadership of MoFA and Japan International Cooperation Agency.  The delegation CWS Japan leads for the event also includes top management of Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd, one of the largest chemical companies in Japan.  Working on innovation and solutions will allow different stakeholders to hold a common and shared vision, and that seems to bring stakeholders together. A key point we will advocate at this summit!
