Refugee Congress is a national network that advocates for improving the protection and lives of refugees in the U.S. and around the world. Formed in 2011, its delegates include asylees and resettled refugees from all 50 states, and represent a diverse range of professions and newcomer communities. Delegates serve on a voluntary basis to ensure that newcomers’ voices are represented at local, state and national levels.
Working in partnership with other community leaders, Refugee Congress delegates engage a wide range of audiences — including elected officials, faith communities, teachers and students, professional associations, and civic and neighborhood groups — to share newcomers’ stories and to strengthen the welcome that the United States provides to men, women and children fleeing persecution.
Today, more than ever, it is critical that newcomers have opportunities to share their stories and engage their communities. Please make a contribution to support the important work of Refugee Congress.
