URGENT: Providing Relief in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, on September 28 . The quake and resulting tsunami leveled buildings and brought destruction to the city of Palu and surrounding areas. More than 5,300 people were killed. Six months later, tens of thousands of people are still displaced and living in temporary housing or tents.
CWS is responding. We are distributing water to more than 13,000 people every day in villages around Palu as well as critical supplies like tarps, rope, blankets and water bottles in affected areas. Our response is part of the ACT Alliance response and will help families improve their access to water and sanitation, build temporary and transitional shelters and help rebuild their livelihoods.
