Church World Service is sponsoring the webinar for anyone involved in disaster response, including members of local long-term recovery groups, faith community leaders, local social service agencies and other local, state and national “COADs and VOADs” (Community and Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster).

Presenters will be Julie Blanciak, FEMA Region II Voluntary Agency Liaison, and the region’s disabilities expert.

CWS Emergency Response Specialist Joann Hale said, “Whether we’re talking about mitigation, preparedness, evacuation, first response or long-term recovery, it is important to be inclusive of every community member at every stage of the disaster cycle.

“The webinar will consider the particular needs of people with disabilities, and the many ways their participation can strengthen disaster response.  It will help you tap the expertise in your community and region – including the Disability Coordination and Integration experts in every FEMA region,” she said.
