Using daily Bible verses, songs, games, lessons and CWS stories – all focused on a water theme – the Newbury United Community Church Vacation Bible School last summer overflowed with enthusiasm and learning.

VBS/Christian Education Director Brigitte Fiorille created the curriculum around a theme of water and global awareness.  “We were inspired by a copy of your “Build a Better World: Water” curriculum and created our 5-day VBS called “A World of Water,” she said.

Each day children at the Newbury, Ohio, church deposited coins in a wooden well at the front of the sanctuary.  At the end of the week they counted their donations, which were matched by an anonymous donor, and sent $273 to CWS!

“We are a small community church and had an attendance of 12 children to our VBS.  We enjoyed this theme and collection efforts very much and the wider involvement and interest into our congregation was notable,” Fiorille said.
