Following the two latest shipments of CWS School Kits to our partner IOCC for children in Syria and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Church World Service has just over 5,000 CWS School Kits in stock, against pending requests for 15,000 from Romania and 3,000 from Moldova – and more requests are expected soon.

CWS School Kits give children buffeted by war, natural disaster and poverty some of the basic tools for learning, so it is vitally important that we replenish our supplies as quickly as possible.

    • CWS partner IOCC supports one of the largest established networks to deliver life-saving humanitarian aid inside Syria, where more than 9.3 million people are currently in need of assistance.
    • In June 2014, some 15,000 CWS School Kits were shipped for distribution to children in Syria.
    • In July 2014, another 15,000 CWS School Kits were ordered shipped to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
    • In 2013, CWS School Kits went to children in nine countries, including the United States (seven states).
    • CWS School Kits include some of the basic necessities for learning, including notebooks, pencils and crayons.
    • These kits help children return to normalcy faster, helping them avoid the long-term effects of trauma.
